Isopropyl Palmitate – IPP
Isopropyl Palmitate – branched-chain emollient ester, widely used in personal care products. Emollient and lubricant. Dispersant. Diluent for vegetable and mineral oils to increase solvent power. Excellent vehicle or diluent for active ingredients. Good solvent for chemical sunscreens.
Compatible with vegetable mineral oil, synthetic esters, low viscosity silicones and ethanol. The product may become cloudy and solidify when the temperature drops. It must be slightly heated and homogenized before use.
Obtaining:
It is produced by the esterification of palmitic acid with isopropanol.
